Lazarus Come Forth!
“When he [Jesus] thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, ‘Lazarus, come forth!’ And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes; and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, ‘Loose him, and let him go’” (John 11:43–44, KVJ).
“Lazarus, come forth” was a calling to be raised from the dead. Jesus spoke these simple words, and life returned to Lazarus. When Jesus called you to Himself to receive forgiveness and salvation, He raised you (your spirit) from death to life.
Although Lazarus was resurrected to life, John tells us that Lazarus came forth “bound hand and foot with graveclothes; and his face was bound about with a napkin” (v. 44a). Lazarus was alive, yet he was bound. The graveclothes prohibited Lazarus from being able to walk in life and freedom. The people around Lazarus were instructed by Jesus to remove the graveclothes. Lazarus needed other people to help free him from the bondages that kept him from living life to the fullest (see John 10:10).
This Lazarus Come Forth! workshop provides an avenue for people to receive the help and healing they need to be set free from the spiritual and emotional bondages that keep them from living the “abundant” life we are promised in Christ. Along with other ministry team members, Dr. Jones teaches and leads attendees in removing the “graveclothes” of unforgiveness, shame, and rejection that have bound them—patterns of hurt, lies, fear, and spiritual oppression—through healing prayer.

Meet Dr. Al Jones
Dr. Jones grew up in Austin, Texas, and became a Christian during the Jesus movement in 1972. Over the years, he has experienced the deep love of God and healing that comes from embracing one’s identity in Christ. Passionate about helping people find healing and freedom through the power of Jesus Christ, Dr. Jones authored the Sarasota Academy of Christian Counselors training course Stress Fractures: Counseling for Stress Utilizing Temperament, as well as the National Christian Counselors Association training courses Counseling for PTSD: Healing the Trauma of the Past and Counseling Using Inner Healing Prayer. He now holds “Lazarus Come Forth” conferences and workshops, using content from these curriculums.
